We can all admit that searching for scholarships can be stressful in the midst of taking classes and working as a full-time student. After all, we face questions like, “How do I get started?” Or even face fears that paralyze us from even applying to any scholarships. Well, this is your time to sit back, relax, and read about a scholarship that may be accessible for you! Calling all of U-M Dearborn students, we have a new scholarship in town! Apply for the Robin M. Wilson Scholarship today!
Robin Wilson, founder and director of Robin Wilson Educational Consulting LLC, announces the Robin M. Wilson Scholarship is being established at the University of Michigan-Dearborn to provide financial support to pursue a degree in business or education. More specifically, the scholarship is intended to benefit scholars who have a documented learning difference, and who are in good academic standing.
A dyslexic literacy leader and youth advocate, Robin desires for UM-Dearborn scholars to have similar educational opportunities that she had during her time at the university. Wilson believes in the power of education, and how information deserves to be accessible to all people, no matter their background. Her vision is to further close the gaps that cause inequalities and disparities within our education system, where low-come households and communities of color are often impacted.
University of Michigan-Dearborn scholars can apply by April 1st for the scholarship through the Office of Financial Aid. The annual scholarship award will be announced by April 30th. The Robin M. Wilson Scholarship will be given annually in the amount of $500.00 dollars. More than one scholarship will be awarded as funds increase. A maximum of two scholarships will be given per year—one will be designated a recent high school graduate and another scholarship will be designated for a nontraditional-age university scholar. Undergraduates and graduate scholars are encouraged to apply. To learn more and apply, visit https://umdearborn.edu/financial-aid/types-aid/scholarships/current-student-scholarships.
